A fireplace that appears to have started out in some plastic garden chairs sent black smoke billowing in the air outside the Property Depot on Route 58, and was extinguished fairly rapidly by the Riverhead Fireplace Division Monday afternoon, according to department spokesman Invoice Sanok.
