An artist, designer, and company of wallpapers and fabrics, Tania Vartan has lived all over the entire world. From her self-proclaimed hippie times as a California female to the time she invested working in a theater in Montreal, lifetime has taken her all-around the globe. “This tortoiseshell wallpaper,” she claimed, referring to the wallpaper in the entryway, “is my newest layout. I intended all the wallpapers and all the fabrics. I painted the pics I painted the home furnishings.”

Set in the center of the entry wall going through the front doorway hangs a huge piece of artwork that is not by Vartan, but of her. The massive portrait by painter and artist Carlos Gamez De Francisco features Vartan sporting a vibrant blouse and holding a blue lover though sitting against a backdrop of purple, white, and yellow.

Past the entryway lies the principal living location of Vartan’s rental, which serves as her house studio. A desk included in paint tubes, journal clippings, paintbrushes, canvasses, and other provides sits in close proximity to the centre of the space.

“I am in the middle of building a new wallpaper mural that is composed of panels,” she stated, referring to several paintings currently lying out. “These will be panels, facet by aspect, that can be scaled up or down … digitally. This is the only stage that’s finished by hand. I paint each part, and I have them all scanned.”
